Why Dieting Never Lasts

Falling off the wagon. First, let's start with why dieting doesn't give you lasting results. We know that diets don't last. not one of us is going to, in reality, keep doing something that's miserable for think about what you've been trying to live with if you just keep trying to diet to reach your health goals. That includes applying dieting methods to whole food plant-based eating. I wanna say that again. This includes applying your old dieting methods to whole food, plant-based eating, which involves tracking everything you eat. Measuring out tiny portions that do not satisfy you eating foods you don't even enjoy in the name of health. Watching everyone else enjoy their meals while you just get through yours. Thinking about food all day long, living for cheat days. Trying to hit numbers that don't even feel natural because they aren't. You were never meant to have to follow those numbers. Following rules that seem to keep changing and feeling like your entire life revolves around food At some point, you just want your life back, and that's when things start to unravel. Sadly, this is a pattern that most of us women know all too well. we feel like I'm motivated this time and I'm gonna start strong. And you do. You're focused and you're committed like many other areas in your life. But then not too far down the road, you're pushing through the diet and by the end of the week, you're sick of it. Maybe you make it two weeks, maybe you make it three. But then comes the moment that you just want a break from it all, and once you step off, it's hard to get back on because you know that you hate what got you this far.

Jarrod

When you are in that moment of desperation, you will reach for any answer, even if it's not necessarily a great answer. So you go into it head first. I'm gonna do this dieting method. It's gonna work because. Somebody on the internet said it would work, but you don't necessarily march it out a few weeks. You don't think of the long game. And I advise all my patients on this when we talk any about weight loss, what is the long game? cause you're going to eventually reach that future point and we need to go ahead and have a good plan now for when you reach that. And a good ending starts with an amazing beginning

GLP-1s, The Long Game, And Reality

Anita

And I just wanna throw this out there. We really weren't meant to have to inject ourselves to lose weight. So yes, maybe you get. Some results, yes, maybe you get where you wanna go, but are you going to inject yourself for the rest of your life? Just like Jared says, march it out over time. And so this is why we see people that take the GLP one injections, gaining back the weight and it coming back with friends because no one wants to pay the money for it or inject themselves the rest of their life. It's not normal and it's not natural. But when you can find the normal natural way that you actually enjoy that loves your body back, it will last. We see it time and time again. But again, you cannot apply dieting methods to eating whole food plant-based and think that's gonna work either. And that's a lot of what's being taught out there and that's why our clients come to us and say, I've tried Whole Food Plant-based before. I just couldn't make it stick. And now, 1, 2, 3 years down the road after working with us, they're still eating healthy plant base because we've found the system that works and it does not involve any miserable dieting methods.

Jarrod

what I see happen, and I don't think people really recognize this, is that after a period of time they think I'm. Cured. Now I've done this injection, I've lost the weight. Now I've maintained it for six months a year. Even though these medications do not cure it, they just artificially suppress the appetite. But there's still this almost irrational aspect in our brain that thinks I'm good now. I can now come off the medication and it will sustain. But you have to recognize the injection doesn't change anything. It's the changing of what you eat that makes the difference long term.

Anita

So you're saying. Medications, manage it. That's what you're saying. So when we go to a doctor, and this is just, I'm about to drop some gold here, If you walk into a doctor, your idea is that you are going to get healed of whatever diagnosis they give you. In other words, you're going to have high blood pressure, take the medication, and you're like, okay, this is gonna help me. Right? And he says, right. And in your mind, you hear. It's gonna heal my high blood pressure because it'll bring the numbers down for a while, but then they creep back up because the same root cause is going on. And now you're on two meds, three meds, four meds, but you're controlled. It's managing your symptoms, not getting you root cause resolution. We have to stop and think, what have I been believing for so long? 'cause the way you are identifying and the words that you are using when you go to a doctor for what you're seeking, like healing wholeness, what you're getting there is not giving you reversal. Please tell me when it is giving you reversal. It is extremely rare. So when they say, yes, it can help you, yes, this is going to take care of it, you're hearing, cure it. That's not what they're saying. What they're saying is it will manage it until we need to add the next thing. Root cause resolution is what you want. GLP one injections are not root cause resolution. Dieting methods are not root cause resolution, we have been living in a matrix regarding health for so long. We've now been convinced the problem must be me, all the while not realizing that you've gone in with a different expectation and definitions for the words they're using. When they say, yes, this will help you.

Absolutely. Because they say it's effective. You think, oh, it's gonna heal this or cure this or take care of this. Well, if you understand, take care of by meaning, it's going to control or manage it for a little while until it's gonna start going out of whack again. Then you're right. But I don't think that's probably what you've thought.

Jarrod

Sometimes effective just means slowing down the rate of decline, and I think some of this mentality that we have. Have with medications. Curing thing comes from early on in medicine whenever we first started developing antibiotics, It was one of the miracles of medicine because people died of infections, and now it's just very, very commonplace to have an antibiotic that will help to cure the infection. And then you don't need the medication after seven days, 10 days, 14 days, whatever the case may be. And so we still carry that same mindset in to other conditions, other medications, and that's just not the reality.

Managed Symptoms Versus Root Cause

Anita

Right. and we are going to keep dropping gold like this. For you, and I know that sometimes this is hard for you to hear, but I want you to understand this is coming from a genuine place of love because Jared and I cannot in good conscience watch the children of God any longer suffer with the things you've been suffering with, because the truth is we have a real enemy who is roaming about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. And if you know the truth, he can't devour you anymore. But if you look back over your life, I want you to think about all the ways you've been devoured and you have a business or dreams. You're building things that you're accomplishing in this world and you've had some big successes, but you keep getting stuck because your body will not fully show up to do what you've been called to do. You are not meant to live that way. God wants you, well, spirit, soul, and body. It reminds me if you've ever listened to Pedro AO talking about gangsta P, like he has this character that he enters into when he wants to give the hard facts,

tough love.

Anita

tough, the tough love, and that's really what it is. You're gonna be hearing more of that from us because we just can't tiptoe around this any longer. We want you well, and you can be, well, whole plant foods when done right. So that it lasts because you love it. And we're gonna be diving more into that right here in a minute, is known for a fact to prevent and reverse the top chronic diseases of our time. And by chronic I mean those diseases that you are told by someone in a white coat that you're gonna have for the rest of your life. And yet what we know is that we see our clients reverse them on the regular. And what we know is that we have reversed them. In our own bodies, and what we know is when you go back to the garden of Genesis 1 29, we see the original way to eat. And the reliable science shows time and again that that is the way that you fuel your body well, but you have to be stripped of and get with somebody who can help you step outta this matrix of all the lies we believed. And replace those lives with truth and get yourself around the right people, places, and things that are gonna set you up for success. Not keep pulling you back into their bucket, which is the wrong bucket. It's the bucket you've been in for far too long, and we're here to help you. get out of the bucket, and then we're gonna show you the way you make these foods. Delicious, quick and easy to prepare and work with your real life situations.

Now, a moment ago you said our. He roams around like a roaring lying to seek whom he may devour. That sounds like there's an element of permission there, or at least ignorance, because if we don't know the truth, then that leaves us open and susceptible. But once we know the truth, we can't be deceived and then we can't be devoured.

Anita

Such a great point. And the thing is, he wants to steal your health from you because he wants to kill you. And up until not too long ago when I was studying the word, I didn't really understand why the Bible said kill and destroy. So he wants to steal from you. Kill you and destroy you. Well kill and destroy. We think that's the same thing, but when you really look at it and think about it and you have quiet time God will start showing you these things, and it was so clear to me the other day, he wants to steal your health from you. This is in the area of health. It has to do with a lot of different things. He wants to steal from you, but when it comes to your health, he He wants to steal your health from you because he wants to kill you so he can destroy your calling. Your mission, you are placed here with a God-given dream on your heart to help people in some area of their lives. Also to plant the seeds in your family and those who are around you to help them come up higher. You cannot do that if your body is not able to show up, if you're constantly managing diseases, if you're constantly exhausted. but there is a way to escape the insanity.

Jarrod

And this is a generational issue. We say legacy on here, but it's true. Our lives are not just about us. It's about the domino effect, the downstream effect of everything that the Lord does through us, through our families, through our businesses, through our contacts. It is so much more than just about us. And when we're at our optimal and we do great things, then those great things flow into our children, into our businesses, into our extended families. A ripple effect that we won't fully understand on this side of eternity.

Legacy, Procrastination, And Urgency

Anita

And that reminds me of something that I wanna share with you so that I don't forget later on in the podcast. It may seem a little bit off topic, but you're gonna see how it fits in here with what Jared's saying, with the ripple effect. Eileen Wilder, one of my mentors, says Procrastination is the assassination. Of your destination. So think about that. Procrastination is the assassination of your destination. But I say procrastination is the assassination of your destination and the delay of every destiny that is tied to yours. now, I wanna say that one more time. Procrastination is the assassination of your destination, And the delay of every destiny that is tied to yours.

That's goosebump material right there.

I'm telling you, I was thinking about this the other day and I knew in my heart that I had to share this with you because what we are sharing here with you can change your life. We have laid out the. Simple Recipes That Make It Stick

Are you going to get the Power On Plant's Cookbook and start making these simple meals? You need the taste and see experience. It is going to blow your mind. it's like walking around inside of Costco and trying what's on the tray and going, oh, I have to have that because it smells good and now it tastes good. But the only difference is with our cookbooks, you're gonna make these things and you're gonna be like, Carrie. Calling her husband ever going, look at this recipe, there's no way this is gonna taste good. And it was for her favorite soup, right? And so she makes the soup and it's got like a couple ingredients, whizzbang. It's done in her Vitamix and works with her busy days, and now they're trying to eat it and she's going, this is literally better than the one I grew up on, that I'm so adamant. Nothing could taste as good as that, right? So if

Jarrod

and if I remember right, I think she ate it three times in one week.

Anita

I'm pretty sure you're right, Carrie. Right in and let us know. But I know it was a lot. I remember that. And then she found her next favorite and her next favorite because when I write a recipe, I take out the 20 different types of garlic that's in there, and the 50 different ways you could do this or that. That's difficult. And we end up with a very small amount of ingredients that are simple to put together, quick to get on your place. But that taste. So amazing. you're gonna love them as much as your old favorites or even more. We have this happen all the time. I literally just went to visit my niece and she was making eggplant Parmesan. Have I shared this story?

Jarrod

No. you haven't.

Okay. You have to hear

Anita

So we were there and she decided to make this eggplant Parmesan dish that she normally makes, which I'm sure tastes absolutely incredible. but she knows that we eat whole food plant-based. So she said, I tell you what, we'll make the marinara together. I always make marinara anyway, and we made it with no oil and just filled it with herbs and spices and it came together in probably about five to 10 minutes max. It was probably more like five minutes crushed tomato, some of your favorite, no oil added sauce, which 'cause oil adds 120 calories per tablespoon. And since we're talking about weight, that is super important for you to know in this. To be, plus it's inflammatory. Okay? So we'll be going over that with you inside accelerator. You have to really learn all about that. You need to get oils out of your life, and it is so simple, it's gonna blow your mind. I didn't say easy, I said simple. And we're gonna walk you through how to do that in a way that won't hurt you in the least, and you won't miss it. So we're making it. We make the marinara. So now I'm making some. Of the most delicious ricotta's in the power plants cookbook. It's gonna blow your mind. Always keep in mind, you can add whatever you want to to it. Add some nutritional yeast, non fortified is what I recommend. Add some spices and seasonings that you like. You can always change things up. But keep in mind that ricotta really doesn't have a lot of seasoning in it. it tastes quite bland, so. Surprise, surprise, my niece and her. Significant other thought that it tasted better than regular ricotta. Imagine that. So we make that, she tastes it, she's eating it outta the bowl without even being in the dish or being cooked yet, and she takes rounds of eggplant, grills them out on the grill. So those come together really fast. We slice them up. They aren't soaked in salt, rinse, nothing. We just sliced them fresh, stuck 'em on the grill, seize them with a little balsamic on one side, grilled on one side. Done. Think about how you say that is boom, three to five ingredients in a pot. Now you got your marinara, throw a couple more ingredients into your food processor, and now you have a dish that may have normally taken you a long time to put together, coming together in a matter of minutes and tasting better than anything you could get out at a restaurant. I seriously felt like I was sitting in a cafe. in Italy. I could literally hear the accordions playing. It was that good. And they were flipping out. So she put his dish together because she thought he wouldn't want to eat it if he knew with regular ricotta. And then on the top, she's putting these big dollops of mine and he eats it and likes it. And so he's going, oh, it was in there. And she told him at the table and she's going, I really think. This is better than the way we usually make it. And he's going, yeah, this is really good. And he tries a bite of ours and they're shocked. Why are they shocked? Because we've been programmed to believe that getting healthy has to be miserable, that you have to eat small portions, that it is not enjoyable, that it's hard, that it's difficult, and it's all because you just don't know what to do and you're trained. You're in a matrix and we can help you get out.

Unlearning The Hate Of Healthy

Jarrod

it's almost like we've been trained to despise being healthy, and I know that sounds ridiculous, but if we've been trained that healthy foods don't taste good, so I want to prefer the unhealthy foods. Is it almost like we've been trained to despise being healthy? Oh, exercise. It's a drudgery. Oh, healthy food. It doesn't taste good. It has to be sinful. It has to be decadent, whatever, for it to taste good. I mean, what does that say about our health in general and really the programming that we've had?

Anita

Yeah, I think. Manmade methods that are exhausting, and I'm gonna go into that here in a minute because it's the same with exercise. You think you gotta be inside four walls of a gym and cranking it out for hours at a time when you could actually be outside living life. I mean, were Adam and Eve in a gym? Did they have to go to the gym? No, they got out. They ran, they played, they enjoyed creation. They were under the trees. They were getting all the things their body needed, whole plant foods. They weren't picking oil off the trees and eating it by the bottle full. these are the revelations that you start having when you start unplugging from the programming. And so, yeah, I think you're right about it. I think it is the programming that we've been. Placed under, that's made us think that what is really good for us is actually not enjoyable and that's gonna steal our joy.

Jarrod

And then it gets you wanting the. Us sit and it sounds ridiculous to say, no, I don't wanna be unhealthy. Well, if you're opting to have these cheat foods, that's what you're doing by default.

Anita

What's sad is a lot of people think of cheat foods as just the box package ingredients, but many of the things that are sabotaging your health and your weight. Our foods that we used to think were eating clean. We literally went to the local farm and bought raw Free range, whole organic, no RBST hormones added, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I mean, just add it up. Exhausting. And it was just the foods by nature that were filled with hormones and things that God put there to keep bringing the calf to the cow. And march it out, We are not the food police, but you have to understand and see this stuff. We love you and care about you too much for you to stay in the dark

The Control Trap And Food Noise

Anita

anymore. I wanna get back to this point about weight loss because we've talked about so many things that we didn't even plan on talking about today, but it is crucial that you understand these things so that you can be set free in the way that you think you should be set free. Not in the way that sometimes your healthcare provider actually is saying. So we're talking about dieting, and then by the end of the week, you're sick of it. Then comes the moment when you just want a break, and then once you step off, it's hard to get back on because you know that you hate what got you this far. Then comes the frustration with yourself and the guilty feelings, the promises to yourself to start over again. The exhausting dieting cycle on repeat. I literally used to sit with my mom through Weight Watchers meetings, Nutrisystem appointments, you name it. And then I had my own extra pounds. But by that time, I was so against dieting. Jared and I had actually convinced ourself that We really weren't overweight, but just normal. Now, when you remain on the dieting, train your body and your mind, start connecting healthy eating with pressure and misery. The moment you give up, you go straight for delicious relief. That's what we were talking about before. Do you know what that's like? But what if you looked at it in a different way? What if getting your body to the place where it finally is feeling good and fully backing you in the life you wanted to live wasn't such a constant struggle? What if you actually enjoyed the way you were eating? Imagine if the meals genuinely satisfied you. What if you didn't even feel like you were missing out on the great stuff? The joy in living? what if you didn't need a break from the way you were eating? because it already felt so exciting and enjoyable that would change so much for you. 'cause when you actually enjoy the way you nourish your body, it's simple to stay with it. Why do most diets feel so hard? Then why do we genuinely hate them? Because most plans are built around control. Control your portions. Control the timing, control all the exhausting numbers. Think about this. Calories, grams, portions, macros, micros, pounds, and the list keeps going and going. Here's the question, does real life actually work that way? You have a family and a schedule and a calling on your life. You need something that fits into your life, not something that takes it over When the plan is manmade and is always so much harder and it just doesn't last. Your body was not created to live exhausted or constantly managing symptoms. Think about what we just discussed. When your energy's low and your body isn't working well, everything feels harder. It's harder to focus, it's harder to be productive. It's harder to show up for yourself and for others. It's harder to do everything you wanna do and you feel called to do. Do you ever just want your body to finally feel free, like doing all the things you really wanna do? I know I did. So please don't feel alone. There is real hope in what we're sharing with you today.

Brenda’s Story Of Food Freedom

Anita

Jared and I literally lost over 75 pounds together and have kept it off without ever dieting one single day. I'm not kidding you. And we have countless clients who have done the same. Take Brenda, for example. Here's what Brenda said. Jared and Anita. Thank you so much for being the hands extended that guided me into this place of food freedom. The holy one has used you both to set me on this path, and I'm loving the interaction here inside the community, especially the comments about not allowing this to become bondage, Not trying to attain perfection because this isn't about perfection. Much like our walk with Yeshua, it's not about perfection. It's about life and love and the freedom. I tell people, my secret is that Jared and Anita have taught me how to really love what I eat. I'm really, really, really loving what I'm eating. And the second thing is I eat whenever I want to. I no longer feel scared because I'm hungry. I just eat what I want and sometimes I forget to eat and my stomach rumbles and it makes me so happy because I'm not a slave to food any longer. I eat when I want, as much as I want, and I find that I'm no longer consumed with food. I love this, but it doesn't rule me anymore. I'm free from the hold it had on me, and I have never experienced that before, ever. And I love that I can make banana bread if I have a sweet tooth or mango ice cream, or have a bowl of fruit and nuts. I can even have Alfredo pasta if I feel the need for creamy pasta dishes. I can go to a restaurant and order and get everything that fuels me well and makes me happy too. All I can say is freedom, and people are constantly asking me now because they see the changes in me, especially the brain clarity and the clear thought processes. Since working with you, I've gone from a size 12 to a size four without even trying to lose weight. My pain has gone from a eight down to near zero, and I'm sleeping through the night eating whatever I want and never feeling deprived. My husband's blood sugar has dropped 70 points in the morning and he's eating carbs. I appreciate how you have walked me through these new ways of eating. I've never made anything this easy and tasteful. You two are amazing coaches and fantastic human beings. I cannot recommend working with you enough. what if you could gain real food freedom like Brenda just described, and walk away from this episode knowing that the very same thing is possible for you. When you start fueling your body in that enjoyable, exciting way that supports it, you will begin to feel the difference. More energy, more mental clarity, more symptoms gone, and more ability to be fully productive in living the life of your dreams.

As I was listening to you share Brenda's experience. I'm thinking of if someone is trapped in their body with weight, with chronic disease, it's ironic, but not in a good way that when we seek the solution, the dieting, we really become even more entangled in bondage to the numbers, So what we have inadvertently done is tried a solution that makes it even worse. 'cause those diets don't work. So now we still have the chronic diseases, the aches and pains. We still have the weight, but now we've heed on top of that a method that further gets us focused on food 24 7.

Anita

Yes, absolutely a hundred percent. It elevates the food noise, dials it up. And now you have the problem of the fact that you've tried one more thing and now you feel bad about yourself when it's not even your fault in the first place, these foods are addictive. Again, we're not just talking about processed foods here. I'm talking about the foods that you've been taught are clean and whole. Animal products, they by nature have things built into them that bring the calf back to the cow that cause your blood vessels to clog up. That lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, leaky gut, and the inflammation that is at the root of it all. When you shift to whole food plant-based, done in the simple, enjoyable way things change, you escape the need for forcing results. You're providing your body with what it needs regularly, and at the same time, you are going to find yourself finally enjoying your meal, snacks, drinks, and even desserts again, feeling satisfied after you eat, no longer thinking about food all day, just like Brenda described, having no need for tracking or measuring everything or anything. And the best part is. Your body starts responding and often that happens very quickly.
